Retail and e-commerce workflows overview
Last updated: Feb-27-2025
The Workflows section of the e-commerce guide provides step-by-step guidance on structuring efficient image and video workflows. These are example workflows—recommendations to help you manage product and non-product assets effectively—but you can adapt and customize them to fit your organization's unique processes and needs.
Product asset workflow: Covers the end-to-end management of product images and videos, from uploading and tagging to optimization and delivery. Product asset workflows are largely automated—once Cloudinary assets are linked to specific products, they sync to the appropriate website components, already optimized and formatted for seamless display.
Non-product asset workflow: Focuses on editorial content, including brand imagery, marketing videos, and other non-product assets used in campaigns, social media, and email communications. These assets often require manual selection, approval, and refinement. While administrators handle setup and automation, content editors oversee asset editing and selection for various distribution channels.
Multi-channel content delivery:Provides strategies and best practices for optimizing asset delivery across multiple platforms, including mobile, social media, third-party partners, and marketplaces.
By understanding and refining these workflows, you can ensure efficient image and video delivery, with the right optimizations, customizations, and features applied for every channel and use case.
