Create transformation presets (video tutorial)

Overview

Within the Cloudinary Console, you can create transformation templates (previously known as transformation presets). These allow your team to apply approved complex crops, optimizations and artistic details to your assets, all with one click and in real time. Let’s show you how to set them up.

Access the transformation editor

1:01	Log into your Cloudinary Console. Select your Media Library by accessing it from the top navigation. Hover over the image you want to transform and select its Edit icon.

Develop a transformation

1:21	Begin developing your transformation with the transformation editor.

Convert the transformation to a named transformation

Take your transformation and turn it into a named transformation, which will combine all the transformation parameters together.

2:32	Step 1: Go to the Transformations section, then click the Dynamic Transformations tab.

2:39	Step 2: Find your transformation from the list, then select its Edit icon.

2:45	Step 3: Select the Save As button. This should open up a pop-up window where you can enter your desired name for the transformation.

2:54	Step 4: Find the transformation as a named transformation, located in the Transformations section's Named Transformations tab.

Turn the named transformation into a transformation templates

3:05	Click onto your named transformation, then flip its Show in templates option on.

3:27	Find the named transformation in your asset's Manage section and easily apply the preset with the available options.
